Constant and Never Ending Improvement (CANEI) was developed through the auspices of Mubarak Awad, founder of the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) and founder and President of the International Youth Advocate Foundation (IYAF), and under the leadership of Azim Khamisa, who founded the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF) following the January 21, 1995 shooting death of his only son, Tariq.

CANEI improves the lives of troubled teens using a holistic approach to treatment with an emphasis on restorative justice, as discussed in Azim Khamisa's award winning book, “Azim's Bardo: From Murder to Forgiveness - A Father's Journey”.

IYAF and NYAP have joined forces that  brings to bear a wealth of talent, knowledge, skills and community resources for the betterment of young people involved in child welfare and juvenile justice systems throughout the country.


The International Youth Advocate Foundation (IYAF), with it's multiple community-based programs seeks to provide innovative services to underserved, at-risk populations, gangs, particularly those abandoned by society or given up on by others.

Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF) is a nationally
recognized non-profit organization dedicated to the
mission of stopping children from killing children and
breaking the cycle of youth violence.
